Media blackout

Since the Israeli attack which killed 7 people in Gaza the media has been prevented to enter or leave Gaza area.
Many journalists think that this is an Israelis way to keep hidden that they have tighten the siege once again..
I'll quote from maan news:
"On Tuesday Dirk Jan Visser, a photographer with a foreign news service, was denied entry into the Gaza Strip, on Monday BBC journalist Aleem Maqbool and his colleague were denied entry into Gaza, and a French journalist, “V” was denied permission to leave.
Israeli journalists have been barred from Gaza for over two years."

At the same time more than 750 000 refugees will be left without food help unless the flour, oil, milk and meat waiting to be delivered through the closed Gaza crossings are not transferred in to the Strip soon.
UNRWA condemned the blockade imposed over Gaza, and especially since it prevented an internationally recognized aid organization from distributing essential supplies to the depressed population.

A lot of the Palestinian's areas are also in need of water.

Another quote from maan:
"Israel resumed the transfer of industrial fuels into Gaza Tuesday morning, furnishing the area with enough fuel to power the electricity plant for another 30 hours.

The brief window where transfers were possible closed before more than a small fraction of fuel waiting to be delivered could be sent through.

Head of the Palestinian power authority in the Gaza Strip Kan’an Ubeid said that the 420 thousand liters of diesel that were transferred Tuesday morning would be able to run the power station for approximately 30 hours, after which blackouts would start.

Israel tricked the world into believing that they resumed fuel shipments, Ubeid said. He accused Israel of wanting to pull the wool over the eyes of the world in an effort to ease the anti-Israel tension in the Arab countries internationally.

All the while, Ubeid continued, Israel continued to practice its collective punishment policies against all of the Palestinians in Gaza."

From my email..

"The siege of Gaza is an illegal and immoral act of collective punishment imposed on the civilian population of the Gaza Strip for the 'crime' of voting in internationally supervised elections for a party not supported by the Western powers," said Ms. Short, the former British Secretary of State for International Development from 1997 to May 2003. "We have visited hospitals and schools here, and I can testify first-hand to the suffering that has been forced upon the Palestinians of Gaza."

Also on board are eight Palestinians who have been denied exit for medical treatment or to pursue their studies at universities.

One elderly couple is going to Germany. The husband had a stroke last year, and his arm is paralyzed. He was not allowed out for treatment through Rafah or Eretz, and he has not seen his children, who live in Germany, since the siege began two years ago.

One student was prevented from going to Germany and was turned back from Rafah a few days ago even though he has German passport. He is going to continue his studies in Germany, and is just one of 700 Palestinian students who have visas to study at universities in Europe who has been forbidden to leave Gaza by Israel and Egypt, another example of the collective punishment on the civilian population of Gaza.

Greta Berlin, one of the organizers in Cyprus stated, "These eight Palestinians are just a small number of people who are being held captive by Israel, denied the right to leave through Rafah by Egypt, and punished for resisting the Israeli government's brutal occupation. It's time the rest of the world stands up against this immoral siege and does something to stop the deteriorating conditions in Gaza."

I really hope that some changes will be happening soon, the truce is on the line as we speak because of the brutal violations that Israel have made these last few days. I hope someone will put an end to this sillyness!

I want to cry!!!

The news about the Israeli strike to Gaza is going through my mind again and again.
I wanna think that it is a misunderstanding, but it aint.
Israel broke once again the ceasefire and this time very very much too. They killed atleast 12 people.
Israel attacked with choppers and tanks and their soldiers and their heavy arms to small crowded Gaza.
What did the Gazans do this time to deserve this killing event to happen??
Surely Israel made it because of the USA presidental election so all the media would be concentrating on that and not on their murdering of innocent people.
Some say that the Israel closed the borders too..
Well free Gaza ships has been coming and going and I am very happy about that! I wish they could do alot of good in Gaza and I hope they could get people oout of there and bring some people back who Israel has denied coming or going. The students and workers, relatives, all who needs to go or come back.

My dearest friend is safely in the other country now, she has no internet at this point, but I wish she gets it someday. I hope she is happy there and not too worried about her family, Im sure they all are fine back home!
I wish to talk with her, but I have to wait for her to go online from somewhere to get her news.
I miss her so much!
She is lucky to get to another country. Maybe she can help her family more now or maybe she will find a nice husband from there and will marry him someday.. Anyway, Im very happy for her and I wish I could help and support her someway.

I am praying for her everyday and for the people of Palestine and every single soul who has suffered from wrong or hunger or poverty and for our planet too, I hope God hears me no matter that I still don't know how to pray properly ;)

ceasefire violated!

Oh my God!
That is all I can think now.
Israel has again violated the ceasefire between them and Palestinians. They have invaded Gaza and demolished houses, killed people and made alot of damage!

From maan news site:
Gaza – Ma’an – Tensions heightened in the Gaza Strip on Wednesday, a day after six Hamas fighters died resisting a late-night Israeli incursion.

The six dead Palestinians belonged to the Al-Qassam Brigades, a military wing affiliated with Hamas.

Officials on both sides voiced concerns that the five-month long Hamas-Israel ceasefire could be in jeopardy.

While Palestinian officials considered Tuesday’s incursion and air raids “a scandalous violation of the Egyptian-brokered ceasefire,” Israel claims its operation was aimed at destroying a tunnel intended for abducting Israeli soldiers.

In retaliation to the Israeli crossover, Palestinian militant groups fired off dozens of mortar shells and homemade projectiles at Israeli targets. One landed in a public park in the center of Ashkelon, an Israeli city near the Gaza Strip.

Two Israelis were treated for shock. Security representatives also said that three soldiers were injured by shrapnel. Two of them suffered moderate to serious wounds, a medical official said.

In addition to the Israelis, six Hamas activists were killed and several others injured, Hamas said. One of the injured Gaza residents is reportedly a woman.

Israeli forces demolished two Palestinian homes in the central Gaza Strip neighborhood of Al-Qurara, near the Kissufim Gate.

The de facto government’s director of Ambulance and Emergency Services within the Health Ministry identified the victims as 32-year-old Mazin Sa’da, 21-year-old Mahmoud Ba’lusha, 20-year-old Omar Al-Alami, 26-year-old Muhammad Awad, 19-year-old Wajid Muharib and 21-year-old Ammar Salihiyya. He added that several others had been injured.

Shortly before midnight on Tuesday, several Israeli tanks invaded Deir Al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip before progressing another 300 meters past the border fence, firing on Palestinian homes. As a result, 32-year-old Mazin Sa’da was killed and four other citizens were injured.

Simultaneously, Israeli warplanes launched several missiles at open areas east of Deir Al-Balah.

Meanwhile, Israeli military bulldozers demolished two homes that belonged to the Al-Hamaydi family near Wadi As-Salqa, and apprehended seven Palestinians from the same family, including three women.

On Wednesday morning, Israeli drones launched three missiles toward the northern Gaza Strip, one missile at the Al-Fukhari neighborhood in the southern Gaza Strip and two missiles at Al-Qarara, east of Khan Younis.

Initial reports indicated that there were casualties in the raid on the northern Gaza Strip.

Hamas’s militant wing announced on Wednesday that it launched four homemade projectiles at Ashkelon, six toward Beeri Kibutz, seven at Magen and Miftaheim, another seven at Nir Izhaq and several others toward Yad Murdakhai, Alumim, Kfar Azza and an Israeli artillery station east of Gaza City.

The Brigades also said 22 mortar shells were fired at invading Israeli military vehicles in the central Gaza Strip, while a homemade projectile launched toward the Sufa military post.

Hamas officials affirmed they would block any Israeli attempt to invade the Gaza Strip, regardless of the ceasefire, “which will not prevent us from defending the Palestinian people.” The wing’s statement warned of retaliations to any further invasion attempts.

Islamic Jihad’s Al-Quds Brigades and Fatah’s Al-Aqsa Brigades also said in statements that they fired weapons in a joint operation. Two homemade projectiles were fired at the Megen military post, east of the Al-Maghazi Refugee Camp in the central Gaza Strip. Al-Quds said it fired two homemade projectiles at Sderot in retaliation for “the Israeli massacre in the central Gaza Strip.”

An Israeli military spokesperson maintained that the incursion came after Israeli intelligence received reports that Hamas planned to abduct an Israeli soldier through a tunnel beneath the border.

“The Palestinians detonated the tunnel after Israeli forces besieged the building,” he claimed.

With regard to the ceasefire, the spokesperson said the Israeli incursions intend to “protect the ceasefire,” without elaborating on how military incursions would aid in this goal.

The de facto government held the Israeli government responsible for all the consequences of their "aggression,” describing it as the most serious violation of the Egyptian-brokered ceasefire since it went into effect in June.

Islamic Jihad announced that the ceasefire would not prevent Palestinian resistance fighters from retaliating against Israeli violations and aggression, which culminated Tuesday night.

Fatah’s Al-Aqsa Brigades also said it would direct their fighters to the Gaza Strip in order to prepare for retaliatory measures in light of Israeli violations, promising to “shell Israeli towns.”

A spokesperson for the Palestinian National Resistance Committees said that “Israel shot dead the ceasefire agreement and alerted Palestinian factions that Israeli forces plan to (again) invade the Gaza Strip soon.”

Representing Hamas, Fawzi Barhoom told Ma’an that “Israel committed a great aggression and violation of the truce last night."

He called on Israeli authorities to take responsibility for the consequences of such an attack, insisting that “what is being performed by the Al-Qassam forces is retaliation for Israeli aggressions."

"Israel will pay a high price for violating the truce," he added.

Barhoom said that Hamas informed Egyptian leaders about the violation and called on the country to take steps to make Israel adhere with the truce. He also called on other sides working under the truce to weigh in, as well.

Barhoum suggested that Israel timed the attacks to coincide with the American presidential election, hoping to keep out of the spotlight.

Occupied...

Last night I was thinking on occupied countrys. Palestine sure is not the only one under foreign oppression.
I quote from one website:

"It has become clear, very quickly, that Iraq is not a liberated country, but an occupied country. We became familiar with the term "occupied country" during World War II. We talked of German-occupied France, German-occupied Europe. And after the war we spoke of Soviet-occupied Hungary, Czechoslovakia, Eastern Europe. It was the Nazis, the Soviets, who occupied other countries.

Now we are the occupiers. True, we liberated Iraq from Saddam Hussein, but not from us. Just as in 1898 we liberated Cuba from Spain, but not from us. Spanish tyranny was overthrown, but the United States established a military base in Cuba, as we are doing in Iraq. U.S. corporations moved in to Cuba, just as Bechtel and Halliburton and the oil corporations are moving into Iraq. The United States was deciding what kind of constitution Cuba would have, just as our government is now forming a constitution for Iraq. Not a liberation, an occupation.

And it is an ugly occupation. On August 7, The New York Times reported that U.S. General Ricardo Sanchez in Baghdad was worried about Iraqi reaction to the occupation. Iraqi leaders who were pro-American were giving him a message, as he put it: "When you take a father in front of his family and put a bag over his head and put him on the ground you have had a significant adverse effect on his dignity and respect in the eyes of his family." (That's very perceptive.)" LINK

So it's us westerns who are occupieing alot of countrys, maybe from reasons that benefit us too?
Everyone knows what happened in Iraq, first there was supposed to be some nuclear weapons, but there wasn't now many American oil companies are located to Iraq and many Americans are in administrative possessions in Iraqis governance.
...and the world may wonder.. what was the true reason on invading Iraq?

another quote from the same site:

"Well, Rumsfeld has clarified things for us.

That explains why this government, not knowing exactly where to find the criminals of September 11, will just go ahead and invade and bomb Afghanistan, killing thousands of people, driving hundreds of thousands from their homes, and still not know where the criminals are.

That explains why the government, not really knowing what weapons Saddam Hussein is hiding, will invade and bomb Iraq, to the horror of most of the world, killing thousands of civilians and soldiers and terrorizing the population.

That explains why the government, not knowing who are terrorists and who are not, will put hundreds of people in confinement at Guantanamo under such conditions that twenty have tried to commit suicide.

That explains why, not knowing which noncitizens are terrorists, the Attorney General will take away the constitutional rights of twenty million of them.

The so-called war on terrorism is not only a war on innocent people in other countries, but it is also a war on the people of the United States: a war on our liberties, a war on our standard of living. The wealth of the country is being stolen from the people and handed over to the super-rich. The lives of our young are being stolen. And the thieves are in the White House."

In Palestine; USA let's Israel do the dirty work for them or maybe it's the other way around; maybe Israel let's US do their dirty work in other Arab countrys..?

Sure in some cases it would be a good thing for someone steps in if the country is having human rights stomped on, but has that been the true reason and the only reason for US to step in in so many plases? I don't think so..

Who is the terrorist really?

The word terrorism has many definitions. The most known to us is maybe a terrorist who is trying to get to their point by violence against innocent civilians. The people fighting against these terrorist usually wears army clothes and so on..
The idea of a terrorist is implanted to our brains so deep that it is nearly impossible to us to see clearly.
What the terrorist also had advanced army equipment and was defending their rights to their ideology and lifestyle, which side would we call terrorists now?

We think that countrys living in simple conditions whit simple rules are retarded and we keep this our right towards " humanity" to go there and "liberate" this nation from these retarded rules and rulers.
But isn't this only our opinion? How do we know for sure that our way of life is the right one??
Is our way so good? Drunken people, rapists, criminals, poors and so on..
Our society is rotten.
We don't care about our old people, we don't care about our poor people. The young and the wealthy are doing fine and that is all we see.
But that ain't the right way or is it??
But still we wan't our way to spread all over the world, we think all the humans in this planet want's to live the same way that we do. We do not respect any other way of living! What makes us better to decide what kind of life should all the humans live on this planet?
Who gave us the right to make that decision??

About

This is a diary born out of concerns of a never ending misery of Palestinian people trying to survive in conditions where they have no human dignity, no oppertunity to ordinary life, no daily life supplies, things that some of us don't think about much...A diary of 2 friends bonded with freedom, and looking for spreading the truth. [As my friend from Palestine is unavailable to write att the moment, I will try to cover the Palestinian view by copying news and interviewing my other Palestinian friends and asking them to write stories too] A gate to the land of Palestine, where freedom is a dream, and truth is hard to be seen.
